Get to know Solvista Health
For more than 60 years, Solvista Health has delivered healthcare services to rural Colorado communities. Today we help people get well and stay healthy at eight locations across Custer, Chaffee, Lake and Fremont Counties.
Our programs—physical health, mental health and substance use treatment—meet the complex integrated care needs of clients in a 5,000-square-mile region. The population in this region is expected to increase at a combined annual pace of 11% over the next decade.
The new Regional Assessment Center (RAC) is essential for providing mental health and substance use crisis stabilization, respite and mobile crisis response in our region.

“She had been involved in ‘the system’ for years. Services were offered, engagement was minimal, and her struggles only got worse. She just felt like she had been going in circles and nothing was going to work to help her.”
As I sat with our Leadville team members at our monthly lunch potluck, I could feel the anguish of this talented clinician talking through what it felt like to try so hard to help an individual in need, yet not see progress. Unfortunately, the situation described was not uncommon. I hear all the time from individuals throughout Colorado who have tried to get help but felt like they were simply bounced around from agency to agency, provider to provider, with no method to any of the madness. It is exhausting, defeating.
“And then I started providing Intensive DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and everything changed,” she continued. “I’ve been going through our training at Solvista, and it has been incredible. I was applying the knowledge and skills straight away. The difference I’ve seen for her has been profound.”
It absolutely made my day (ok, week) to hear this story of hope. It speaks directly to how Solvista strives to be different.
The individuals who courageously come to us for help deserve exceptional quality care that is rooted in deep evidence, tailored to meet their unique needs, and provided by a highly trained and deeply committed team. Solvista Health’s goal is to become a true ‘Center of Excellence’ that brings the best care possible to our communities and partners. We are not just providing access to care, we are providing access to effective, dignifying care that we can prove works.
To achieve this, we are relentlessly focused on training. We are building a team of the brightest and most passionate professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines. We are investing in evidence-based programs (those services shown through extensive research to actually work) and implementing them to fidelity.
We believe that being a rural nonprofit shouldn’t mean our communities receive anything less than the best. And we ask that you’ll help us deliver on this vision.
Your donation strengthens our efforts to implement, grow, and sustain best-in-class behavioral health treatment programs. With your support, recovery and wellness are possible for those in need – our neighbors, friends, family members, and ourselves.
Thank you for helping us put people first and investing in the health of our community.
With gratitude,
Brian

Your commitment truly can change the world
With your support, we can fill a critical gap in the continuum of behavioral healthcare in southern Colorado. The RAC will improve health outcomes and strengthen local systems of care. This center will reduce overall healthcare costs by providing the right level of care at the right place and time for individuals in need.
Additionally, the facility will serve as the “home base” for our regional mobile crisis teams, which also provide service 24/7/365, and for our law enforcement co-responder programs.
What’s more, with each successful outcome, the individuals, families and communities in our region will be stronger and healthier, which benefits them and our state as a whole.
